The questions in The Big Challenge questionnaires are divided into several levels of difficulty. This system allows for a progressive evaluation of students and challenges them throughout the contest.
📋 Difficulty Levels by Format
Criteria Number of Questions 55 questions Easy Level First 25 questions (4 points per correct answer) Medium Level Next 15 questions (5 points per correct answer) Hard Level Last 15 questions (6 points per correct answer)
💡 Tip: Students can focus first on easy and medium questions to maximize their score before attempting the hard ones.
It’s normal for students to hesitate on some questions. But what should they do in this situation?
📋 Recommended Strategy
🧐 If the student can eliminate 2 wrong answers: They can try guessing, as they have a 50% chance of being correct. Even if wrong, the penalty is minimal (1/4 of the question's points).
🚫 If the student has no clue: It’s better to leave the question unanswered to avoid losing points, as each wrong answer costs 25% of the question's points.
📋 Why This Strategy?
✅ Correct Answer: The student earns points (4, 5, or 6 points depending on the difficulty).
❌ Wrong Answer: The student loses a quarter of the question's value (1, 1.25 or 1.5 points depending on the difficulty).
➖ No Answer: 0 points, but the student doesn’t lose any.
💡 Tip: Encourage students to eliminate improbable answers before guessing. This increases their chances of scoring points!
